New Amiibo Lineup Brings Zero Suit Samus, Dr. Mario, Splatoon Inklings, More

Nintendo has revealed a new lineup of their Amiibo figurines during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The new lineup, which is coming throughout the rest of this year, are kicking off this May. Beginning on May 29, fans will be able to pick up: Charizard, Pac-Man, Wario, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Robin, Lucina and Ness. The Splatoon Inklings are going to be available on the same day, and they come both separately, and as a three-pack.

In September, the Dark Pit and Palutena in July, and Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, Olimar, Dr. Mario and Bowser Jr. Amiibo are coming. You can browse all of their latest Amiibo over on their official website, in case you want a closer look. Gamestop has confirmed that EarthBound’s Ness Amiibo is going to be exclusive to their stores.

If you get your hands on the Splatoon Amiibo, you’ll get special missions unlocked in the game on Wii U. If you manage to complete these missions, you’ll get exclusive weapons and gear that are unobtainable anywhere else in the game.

Finally, Nintendo revealed two new types of Amiibo, the yarn Yoshi Amiibo for Yoshi’s Woolly World, and the new card-based Amiibo that is compatible with the new 3DS game, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.

Last but not least, the Marth Amiibo is going to be restocked next month, as many collectors had gotten burned trying to obtain the seemingly rare figurine.
