We’ve learned (via Game Watch) that Square Enix and Koei Tecmo are looking to possibly release Dragon Quest Heroes, their upcoming musou brawler, in countries other than Japan.

During an interview between Game Watch and Square Enix at this year’s Taipei Game Show, the inevitable question of an overseas release came up, with  Square Enix’s Ryutaro Ichimura responding:

“I would like to move forward with hope. Since we announced the Chinese version today at the Taipei Game Expo, we’ve seen the reaction from the fans. After seeing the positive reaction, I want to distribute the game around the world.”

Game Watch also polled the creators on whether or not a potential English  version would give players the ability to switch between English and Japanese audio, to which Ichimura responded:

“We haven’t agreed upon anything at this time, but if the value is there, it’s something we’ll look into moving forward.” Koei Tecmo producer Kenichi Ogasawara also chimed in with “If the demand from our fans is strong, we’ll definitely consider it.”

Also, when Game Watch asked them whether Dragon Quest Heroes features multiplayer of any kind, Ogasawara replied:

“We currently have no plans for synchronous multiplayer, but we are looking to implement a fun new feature that will use the game’s network. We haven’t officially revealed this yet, but I think you’ll like it.”

Dragon Quest Heroes is coming to both PS4 and PS3 in Japan on February 24th.
