• Square Enix Reveals School of Ragnarok, a Tactical Action Game for Arcades

    This week’s Famitsu has revealed School of Ragnarok, a totally new arcade game from Square Enix.

    While details are scant, it’s decribed as an online game, featuring one-on-one battles that pan out in “tactical 5D action”. The last time I heard a term consecutively above 3D, it was one of those gimmicky arcade games on the Wildwood Boardwalk.


    The game’s staff are made up of Drakengard staff:

    • Producer: Takamisa Shiba (Lord of Vermillion, Drakengard)
    • World Setting & Scenario: Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa)
    • Character Design: Kimihiko Sakato (Drakengard, Terra Battle)
    • Composer: Keiichi Okabe (Nier)

    School of Ragnarok is set to hit Japanese arcades later this year.

    We’ll keep you guys posted. I’ll be watching this game on a personal level, for Okabe-san alone.
