Against All Odds, Hatred is Finally Greenlit on Steam

Despite the massive surge of backlash and calls for censorship, Hatred has actually been greenlit on Steam. (Thanks for the tip, Patyos!)

Previously, the game was put on Greenlight, only to be quietly taken down, leading to an uproar between pro-censorship folk and those against. A letter of apology was issued to Destructive Creations from Valve boss Gabe Newell, and the greenlight campaign was given the go-ahead.

The game certainly hits a lot of those outrage cords, and the devs at Destructive Creations are not pulling any punches either. Take the above piece of concept art, for example. It was published to their official Facebook with the caption: “ON CHRISTMAS EVE, YOU’RE ALL EASY TARGETS.” This is the kind of stuff that has me laughing my balls off, but I digress.

So what do you guys think? Is this a triumphant win for creativity, and freedom of speech? Things will get interesting if Destructive Creations attempt to bring the game to consoles, however.
