Electronic Gaming Monthly May Have Ceased Publication

Quartermann, Sushi-X, the review crew, those hilarious April Fools pranks that tricked everyone … if you’re an 80s/90s gamer, you probably have fond memories of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Known as EGM, it was the main conduit for gaming information in the pre-internet age and helped shape the young and newly forming gaming culture it was tasked with covering. Though the internet took a bit away from magazines like EGM, the publication continued pumping out new issues on a quarterly basis starting back in 2010.

That might be coming to an end though. If this link is to believed, the publication of their quarterly issues has ceased.

One small wrinkle in this theory is that the subscription link is still working, which may mean someone has jumped the gun. Or they just don’t have the funds necessary to even update the website.

Either way, it’ll make the 8 years worth of EGM magazines I have stacked up in the attic a bit more valuable.
