Eneme Entertainment are working on quite a unique game, and I hope the pixelated look isn’t throwing you off, because I know there’s quite a few of those games coming out these days.

Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for Eitr, the indie studios first game that is described as an action RPG that takes inspirations from Diablo, Golden Axe, and, obviously, Dark Souls.

The game’s name, Eitr, refers to the black poison that has seeped into Yggdrasil, the World Tree which connects all of the nine worlds of Norse Mythology. You’ll have to delve into various dungeons and environments to combat the evil that has arisen from the darkness.

The game features a crushing, stamina-based combat system reminiscent of the Souls games, but it also has quite wonderful pixel art that really seems to draw everything together in this corrupted Norse world.

Eitr is currently being developed for PC with no release date, but for now you can follow the dev’s progress over on the Tigsource forums.
