• Square Enix Trademarks “Prequel Trilogy” in Japan – More Final Fantasy Spinoffs?

    While many fans were angry at the long running Final Fantasy XIII story involving protagonist Lightning, it seems like Square Enix might be considering a prequel trilogy for one of their games.

    The company filed a trademark for “Prequel Trilogy” for use with video games, in Japan. Naturally this opens up the discussion to a pretty damn wide array of titles that Square Enix may be considering returning to.


    What could the prequel trilogy be for? I’m sure many fans (myself including) would love to see a prequel trilogy for Final Fantasy VII, but it would certainly be interesting to see something totally off the wall like Romancing SaGa or something.
