Pixel Noir is Crafting a 16-bit, JRPG Inspired, Hard Boiled Detective Game

SWDTech has taken a game to Kickstarter that is made up of retro inspired pixels and gameplay mechanics, but also something new and unique. They’ve decided to create a game that fuses classic, addicting JRPG gameplay with a story driven noir detective game.

The atmosphere of the game is definitely one of the most defining aspects of it, rich with urban cityscapes and a very addicting soundtrack that is made up of chiptunes that feel reminiscent of something you’d hear out of a live action noir/detective movie. There are some very interesting features being planned for Pixel Noir, most notably cross save functionality across all platforms, intuitive controls for mobile platforms, and more.

Should the game be funded, it will be coming to PC, Mac, Android, iOS, Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita, setting it aside from other Kickstarter funded games that usually ask for money to just get the game onto platforms other than PC, Mac, or Linux.

Did we mention that SWDtech is based out of NYC? If you want to fund Pixel Noir, head on over to their Kickstarter campaign.
