The Square Enix Collective is Now Taking Developer Entries

The Square Enix Collective, a partnership between the company and the crowdfunding portal Indiegogo that was set up to show off game concepts from indies, is now officially accepting developer applications from its website.

The Collective will reportedly show off new pitches every Monday, and its terms of use are available to peruse over while we wait for the new submissions to go up tomorrow.

While the Collective was announced last October, the platform was only accepting certain games, with the intention to show them off to the public, where visitors can vote on them. If they get voted highly enough, Square Enix can then look into giving the studio development and marketing support, kind of like the Steam Greenlight program.

The Collective is now accepting original ideas from developers, but in the future they’ll add an option for people to use “older Eidos” intellectual property, like Fear Effect, Gex, among others. A “pilot phase” for the program started earlier this year that featured Kitfox Games’ Moon Hunters (pictured above), Ruffian Games’ Game of Glens and Tuque Games’ World War Machine. These titles will get their own Indiegogo funding campaigns later this month.
