Sony is apparently considering allowing software to be pre-loaded on the Playstation 4 next month, in a confirmation via Polygon.

News of this possibility came last week when a bunch of tweets from inFAMOUS: Second Son developer Sucker Punch Studios hinted that Sony Computer Entertainment America would be pre-loading games onto the Playstation 4 in April. A representative from Sony didn’t confirm the date, but did say that Sony is aware of player demand for the feature:

“We know that it is the feature you’ve been asking for and we are considering it accordingly. We do not have specific details to announce at this point in time, but stay tuned for upcoming announcements about system updates and added features.”

Sony has offered it’s pre-buy feature on the Playstation Network for quite some time now, as well as their “Day 1 Digital” promotion where they encourage developers to have their games available digitally on the same day they hit the shelves. There are many more planned features in future PS4 firmware updates, like having a more robust video editor for Twitch recordings, and even the ability to dim the Dualshock 4’s lightbar.
