Hello there dear Niche Gamer readers! It’s been awhile since I’ve talked to you guys directly like this, but I wanted to let you know about an exciting new development with our website and community – we now have working, spam-free forums!

Previously, I kept toying with the idea of having forums or not, ultimately I wanted to have a more private section for our readers and enthusiasts alike to meet up and talk about things both in the gaming industry and outside of it. My biggest problem, believe it or not, was figuring out how to keep the tidal waves of spam at bay. Sadly, I found almost no solutions that worked efficiently, and I was almost going to throw in the towel with the dream of our own dedicated forums.

That ended a few days ago, when I found a captcha alternative in the form of areyouahuman, which sounded almost too simple to even have a chance of working. I’m here to tell you it did, ever since I installed the program and tested it out, we’ve had zero spam registrations and attacks on the forums. I now feel comfortable presenting them to you, dear readers, and I hope you’ll join me in starting up a small, tightly knit community over on our forums, which you can view here.

Please let me know what you guys think about this, if there are things you’d like to see changed or modified, and so on. Remember – you can always engage us both in comments on the articles themselves or on the forums, I tend to think the forums are a much more personal experience though.
