Valkyria Chronicles 3 is Finally Translated into English

If you’re a fan of Valkyria Chronicles, you’re probably still upset at the fact that Sega refuses to localize the third chapter in the series. Despite making some pretty awesome localization decisions, like bringing an English version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F on Vita to reality, they still are mum on the third chapter of the Valkyria series.

Well fear not – a talented team of fans have been laboring away at translating the game, and their work has come to a close now. There are a few caveats with this fan translation patch, mostly the fact that it requires a custom firmware either on your PSP or Playstation Vita. So, if you’re not comfortable with that sort of thing, I’d say stay far away from this.

The actual patch itself can be downloaded here from the team’s website, which is also where you can find a complete list of instructions. The translation patch apparently does work on Playstation Vita, although you’ll have to jump through more hurdles to make that possible unfortunately as the platform is more locked down than the Playstation Portable is.

Digital copies are compatible with the translation patch as mentioned here, and you can also find the digital copy of Valkyria Chronicles 3 here on the Japanese Playstation Store. The Japanese version is on sale until January 8th, so move move move if you’re looking to get it for cheap (980 yen).
