Final Fantasy XIV’s Housing Gets A Price Cut

They often say art imitates life, and if they were playing Final Fantasy XIV right about now they’d be patting themselves on the back. If real world wealth disparity and housing problems weren’t enough, it seems that Square Enix’s online world is suffering from much the same maladies.

According to producer Naoki Yoshida, a small group of players have been hoarding the in-game currency and making it hard for regular players to buy housing. For fear of having land controlled by a select few, the team has decided to lower housing prices to a more affordable rate come this January. Further price adjustments will occur every two weeks over a three month time period.

So if you’ve been holding off on buying a lot of land in the game, know that come next month it’ll be a buyer’s market.
