Natural Motion is a talented development studio that originates from Oxford, England, and has since grown to have satellite studios in London and LA. They pioneer with graphics and AI technologies, and their latest game is definitely pushing the envelope with both.

Enter Clumsy Ninja, a game for iOS devices, has been in the works for more than a decade. The game is an attempt to create a fun, rewarding experience with a highly detailed virtual character, coupled with immaculate artificial intelligence. In Clumsy Ninja, you give commands to the totally helpless ninja, or you know – tie balloons to him. Everything you do to him helps him increase his skills, and hopefully find his missing friend, Kira.

The game is free to play, and it has only been out since November 21st, but that hasn’t stopped users from downloading it over 10 million times, and playing it for the virtual equivalent of a thousand years. Yes, those are real numbers shared by Natural Motion. The game has a microtransaction store, so naturally the game has been raking in the dough.

One of the key things to note with Clumsy Ninja’s success is that it’s purely an organic hit, meaning they haven’t been heavily advertising it and or shoving it down peoples’ throats. The game is on track to be the most successful iOS game of all time, and we wish NaturalMotion all the best. Now, back to tying up that damn ninja and seeing how well he flies..
